Allentown, Pennsyvania

We left Stroudsburg, PA and traveled to Allentown, PA where we stopped at a quaint little eatery with lovely St. Louis-type arches in front:  Mcdonalds I think it was called.  We were across the street from their only attraction:  Dorney Amusement Park which rivals Magic Mountain.  We couldn't stop singing Billy Joel's "Allentown".  We then proceeded South, avoiding any highway with more than 2 lanes.  This was our goal.  No big cities.  Much to my brother's dismay, we were avoiding Philadephia and Washington DC.  That's another trip..  We stopped at the Crystal Caves in Kutzville (next to Virgin-ville) and took these pictures.  the first one is a Stalamite.  This is my favorite.  Looks like a older man.

  1. You mean, you are going to by-pass the Smithsonian? That has to be one of the biggest attractions on the entire east coast...
