On our way to Woodstock....

As you can see, Gloria and I have changed all plans we had or were going to have.  After the big city madness of Boston, we decided never to travel into their bowels again. Not that there is anything wrong with big cities.  Some of my best friends are in big cities. We just thought that traveling the highways would be like saying "Yes, we saw most of California.  We went all the way down 5!"  We left Boston in the wee hours of Saturday and started straight across MA heading west.  It seemed like a matter of minutes before we were in New York.  The whole road there was a toll road and I have to tell you that all those toll guys are so nice.  Gloria had them smiling and wanting to join us within the time it took them to take our money.  One guy even opened his booth door and yelled to his fellow worker "I'm going!  See you later!"

If you are ever in the neighborhood, you must stop in Philmont NY.  My friend Melanie's good friend Elizabeth (pictured with Jo) and hubby own the "Main Street Public House" which was built in 1898 and is located at 12 Main Street.  Look it up because it's very interesting.  We arrived around 8:00 am and were greeted by this beautiful, glowing woman who wasn't quite ready to receive her first breakfast customers but welcomed us in all the same.  I explained to her that I worked with Melanie in Grass Valley and her smile lit up the whole room.  She sure does miss you Mel! She made Gloria and I the best cup of coffee I ever had and made us feel right at home.  A Ragae band had played in her establishment the night before and she "danced her ass off".  Not only that but she also works with her brother at his organic food farm where she often travels to New York City to service their customers.  Where does she get her energy?   I wanted to know but was too tired to ask.

Where to next?  Why Woodstock of course!  I felt right at home with my universal, peace and love sisters and brothers.  All of us had long, gray to white hair and half smiles, and while walking the narrow, curvey and extremely quaint streets, we looked each other right in the eyes, silently asking "Do I know you from somewhere?"  We ate lunch at an organic, zen like cafe that was absolutely delicious.  Don't ask what we had because, I for one, couldn't even pronounce the ingrediants let alone tell you what they were but.. oh so good!  Gloria and I thought of you Frank!  Wish you here brother!
