Someone got us for $1300

Well, last night when I tried to check in using my debit/check card, it was declined.  I was shocked because I called the bank before I left and told then of our travel plans.  Evidently, on the day we checked out of  Day's Inn in Selma, my credit card number was sold on the internet.  Within a few minutes, someone "swiped" my card at a Walmart in Dallas for $650 and it was "swiped" again in Arlington Virginia in a Walmart for $647.  Then a few minutes later, someone used it at a Budget Rent a Car in Virginia City VA but it didn't go thru.  Of course, I called the Bank and they took care of everything.  At this point, we are not sure who sold my credit card info on the net.  I guess it could have been anyone since our trip began.  I used it at 5 restaurants and 3 motels.

  2. you could be on dateline with that story - i'm thinking i will never sign one of those card slips - they then have your signature...i have long thought that walmart employees are running scams - i have tried to figure out what it is...and how it's done - i have to review food stamp card purchases and have found some "oddities" at walmart - most occuring in the wee hours of the morning involving purchases of hundreds of dollars in one swipe...(a walmart without a grocery store - how many bags of potato chips and cracker jacks would you have to buy!!! i'm thinking they have found a way to convert the food card to a cash refund but can't seem to crack the code. i'll never stop trying though.
